Technical Sales Executive
Job Level: Professional
Location: Field Based
Legal Entity: Bostitch UK
Reports To: Business Unit Manager
Main Purpose of the Position
- To manage the business between Bostitch, Distributors/Wholesalers and Direct Customers in a geographical area.
- To implement Business Development Plan for new customers.
- To Service and Repair customers Tools if required.
- Organising and manning customer Trade Days and Exhibitions.
- To ensure that Bostitch is recognised as a market leading supplier, and is established as the preferred supplier to its customer base
- Checking customer stock levels and taking orders, actively promoting Bostitch ancillary products and raising the customer perception of the Bostitch Brand.
- To provide full support to the Bostitch Team, feeding back information on competitor activity, identifying potential new business and increasing sales of existing product
Accountabilities
- Achieve Operating Plan Profit and Sales Targets in Area.
- To maintain value of Demonstration Tools and Fasteners in car stock, not to exceed agreed limits.
- Control T & E within budget.
- To provide holiday cover for other Team members when needed
- To keep accurate records of existing customers Sales calls and prospects
- To provide a monthly journey plan in advance
- To keep QMI forecast accurate
- To provide product forecasts to S & OP
Responsibilities
- To train customers personnel in the correct safe usage of the tools & fasteners
- To demonstrate on site at customers premises
- To make formal Sales presentations to Retail Customers
- To share best practice with other Technical Sales Representatives
- To call on lapsed accounts within existing call / journey plan to establish the future potential for the business, and to establish what competitor activity currently exists within these accounts, and report back
Skills and Competencies
- PC & AS400 user skills, order entry, word, excel & PowerPoint
- Technical knowledge of Applications, Tools and Fasteners
- Basic knowledge of Service and Repair
- Ability to understand and analyse data
- Knowledge of account management
Qualifications and Experience
- City & Guilds Engineering or equivalent.
- 2 Years selling experience
- 5 Years experience in a pneumatic environment or equivalent
- Full clean driving licence.
